Established in 1992, Jahurul Islam Medical College (JIMC) received approval from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The college campus, set amidst green vegetation and spaced towns near a circuit house, provides a scenic and tranquil environment conducive to learning. The college spans approximately 33 acres, housing all preclinical and para-clinical departments in its academic building, which includes classrooms, a dissection hall, laboratories, a museum, and a well-equipped modern academic library, the JIMC Central Library, on the 4th floor. The library accommodates over 200 users in its reading area and is frequented by more than 150 individuals daily, including doctors, members, teachers, and students.
Located on the 2nd floor of the academic building, the JIMC Library occupies a compact space with built-in facilities catering to students, doctors, teachers, and researchers.

The library operates on all working days, excluding declared public and weekly holidays.
The library's collection also includes 4,464 volumes of bound journals, access to 5,085 journals in various languages, 12,250 e-books, and other resources through HINARI and PERI. Maps, atlases, CDs/DVDs, and audio-visual materials are available in the reference section.

The JIMC Library aims to provide a supportive environment for study and research. Borrowers are responsible for all materials checked out on their JIMC Library ID card and must return them promptly. Borrowing privileges are non-transferable and may be withdrawn if abused. Damaged items must be reported to the librarian for repair or replacement.
The library is intended for Jahurul Islam Medical College (JIMC) members. Users should respect others, keep study spaces clean, and ensure cell phones are silent. Disruptive behavior, loud talking, or group study is not allowed. Photography, videotaping, and recording require library permission.
Food is prohibited in the library, and only spill-proof mugs and pop-up bottles are allowed for drinks.
All JIMC students and faculty can become library members by obtaining a library card, which is necessary for using the reading room and borrowing materials. The application is free and requires two photographs and necessary documents for approval.
Library membership cards remain valid depending on the type of membership.
Lost or destroyed library cards can be reissued, with an application and one photograph required.
Library materials can be searched manually and are loaned upon presentation of a valid ID card.
Members must obtain clearance from the library by returning all materials and surrendering the library card when completing their course or leaving the college.
